Summary Does a science of parapsychology really exist? This is the question that they author attempts to answer. And in doing so he investigates the unusual, the strange, and the mysterious phenomena which go beyond what we understand as the normal, known powers of the human soul--phenomena which seem to imply the action either of entities superior to that soul or of some unfamiliar factor within it. Contemporary journalism has kept us amply informed about such manifestations as paranormal healing, telepathy, extra-sensory perception, premonitions, poltergeists and the like. And the human mind continues to search for certainty of a life after death by means of spiritualism. The public's curiosity is great for everything which seems strange and mysterious, and scholarly curiosity is avid to determine whether it is possible to discover the origins and causes of these happenings. All of these phenomena are examined in this volume and the author also defines the Church's attitude to them.
