Brutus becomes involved in an assassination plot hatched by Cassius and others wary of Julius Caesar's growing power and popularity. Following Caesar's murder, the ruling triumvirate of Mark Antony, Caesar's nephew, Octavius, and the general, Lepidus, condemn the conspirators to death. Cassius and Brutus are followed to Macedonia where, in the face of near certain execution, they kill themselves.
