Although Balet comique de la royne, known also as Circé, was planned by Belgiojoso, known in France as Beaujoyeulx or Beaujoyeux, he had several assistants in its composition. The verses were written by La Chesnaye from Belgiojoso's sketches; the music was composed by Lambert de Beaulieu assisted by Jacques Salmon and other court musicians.
